Website case study – Small Adelade service provider
Turning a local suburb business into an in-demand Adelaide service provider.
How Website Adelaide created a website for House & Shed Property Clearances that supported growth and resulted in the need to hire more staff.

About the Business
House & Shed Property Clearances began in 2014 and was founded by a husband-and-wife team who recognised a need in their local community to help people clear out sheds and garages. With strong community values and a genuine desire to support their neighbours, they began offering hands-on assistance for removing everything from household items to old bikes and paint buckets.
From the start, they were committed to recycling, donating, and responsible disposal. They built a trusted network of local charities, recyclers, and auction houses to ensure unwanted items could be given a second life instead of ending up in landfills.
Over time, their services expanded to include yard clean-ups and clearances for units and small homes. Their marketing was limited to their Facebook page and focused mainly on selected suburbs in southern parts of Adelaide.
The challenge
House & Shed Property Clearances contacted Website Adelaide with a clear goal: they wanted to grow their business and present their services more professionally. While receiving work through word of mouth, referrals, and their Facebook page, they had no website and no visibility in Google search results. Without a website, it wasn’t easy to appear professional, especially when dealing with businesses or clients who expect a formal online presence.
When we met, their services were presented broadly, with little differentiation between customer types. Packages and pricing were one-size-fits-all, and they lacked a clear strategy to expand into new suburbs, take on more complex jobs, or attract new segments such as NDIS providers or property professionals.
They knew that to take the next step, they needed:
- A professional website that reflected their values and expertise.
- A strategy to reach customers across a broader geographical area beyond their local suburb.
- A way to position themselves against competitors like real estate agencies and other clearance businesses.
- A marketing foundation to help them compete for larger home clearances—not just sheds, units, or smaller homes.
Our approach
We began with a strategic business and marketing meeting to clarify their direction and understand their vision. Together, we unpacked:
- Who their current customers were
- What customer segments they could target in the future.
- The life situations that typically triggered a need for their services (e.g. deceased estates, downsizing, aged care transitions, NDIS clients).
- How competitors were presenting similar services.
From there, we created:
- Defined customer personas including families, lawyers managing deceased estates, real estate agents, and NDIS support workers.
- Clear service packages for homeowners, including full property clearances, specialist shed clearances, yard cleanups & junk removal and labour hire per hour.
- Deceased estate clearance services for executors and family members.
- House clearance services & property clean-ups for real estate agents, property managers, care homes and NDIS providers.
- A more strategic pricing structure based on the type of help required and the level of client involvement.
- An understanding how different clients might search for and engage with their services during their customer journey.
From there, we
- Conducted competitor and keyword research to shape the website structure and inform the SEO strategy.
- Identified key search terms and aligned content around services and geographical locations to improve visibility.
- Wrote the website content with SEO in mind, using a clear structure that balanced scannable sections with in-depth information, providing valuable content tailored to the needs of different customer types.
The Website
The website was designed to:
- Reflect a clean, modern look and feel with a compassionate, reliable tone
- Establish credibility and professionalism
- Provide strong calls to action for requesting quotes or making direct contact
- Emphasise local trust and family values
- Showcase packages, services, and who they help
- Differentiate their experience in shed and yard cleanups, item searches, and specialist work with chemicals, heavy items, and auction house coordination
- Support future scalability of services and SEO
Importantly, the structure helped potential customers identify themselves whether they were homeowners, NDIS support workers, real estate agents, executors of an estate, or people moving to residential care.

Results
Since launching the website, House & Shed Property Clearances has achieved outstanding business results since the website launched 7 months ago.
House and Shed Clearances are ranking for 106 keyword phrases in position 1 – 10.
Two core service keywords are now ranking on page 1 of Google, positions 4.3 and 6.4.
Most enquiries come from people who are ready to buy. Customers tell them that their business is often the first and only call they make.

The business is now receiving two new enquiries per week, almost all of which convert into paid work.
The owners have had to hire more staff to meet demand and continue scaling the business.
The new website has helped shift their focus from smaller sheds and units to larger, full-home property clearances, one of their key growth goals.
They are now visible across all metro areas, the Adelaide Hills, and the Fleurieu Peninsula, not just the southern suburbs.
