Psychologist, counsellor & therapist website experience

Adelaide website design experience across different practitioner and practice models

Website Adelaide builds websites for psychologists, counsellors, therapists and professional organisations across Adelaide and South Australia.

EXPERIENCE ACROSS THE SECTOR

Website examples from our psychology and counselling experience

The projects in this sector have ranged from sole practitioners and youth counselling practices to multi-audience professional organisations.

The website challenge often changes with the practitioner model, professional scope, client group and the amount of reassurance someone needs before making contact. Here are few examples.

01 · Psychology and coaching psychology

Anna O’Grady Psychology

Location: Eastwood, Adelaide, South Australia

Anna O’Grady Psychology needed to replace an existing website with limited search performance while clearly separating psychological counselling from coaching psychology.

That distinction mattered because the services involve different client needs and different Medicare rebate arrangements.

We structured and wrote the website to explain both services clearly while addressing some of the hesitation people can feel before seeking support.

The content also needed to remain appropriate for an AHPRA-registered psychologist without becoming impersonal or overly clinical.

This project reinforced how professional scope, service differences and practical access information can all influence whether someone feels confident taking the next step.

02 · Youth and adult counselling

Carly Astill Counselling

Location: Moana and Belair, Adelaide, South Australia

Carly Astill Counselling speaks to both young people and parents without making either audience feel secondary.

The website explains rotating locations, walk-and-talk sessions at Moana Beach and Belair National Park, and that the counselling service does not attract Medicare rebates.

Privacy and consent were particularly important. We included practical information about when parents may be involved, what remains confidential and what a young person can expect before making contact.

The project showed how audience, privacy and service format can shape the website just as much as the counselling service itself.

03 · Psychoanalytic education, professional training and member services

Adelaide Institute of Psychoanalysis

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

The Adelaide Institute of Psychoanalysis required a very different structure from a standard clinical practice.

Its audiences include prospective trainees, current members, people seeking psychoanalytic treatment and the media.

The client supplied the content. Our role was to organise a complex mix of training programs, short courses, events, professional resources, a journal and practitioner information into clearer audience pathways.

This project demonstrated how a psychology-related organisation can require several distinct journeys while still presenting one coherent professional identity.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Practitioner fit carries unusual weight

Across psychology and counselling projects, the person behind the service has consistently played a central role in the decision.

Qualifications and registration matter, but prospective clients may also be assessing the practitioner’s approach, areas of practice, modalities, client groups and way of working.

For a psychologist offering many different services, the professional scope and the distinction between psychology and coaching needed to be understood.

For counselling websites it may be important for both young people and parents to understand what engaging with the practitioner might feel like.

That has reinforced the importance of practitioner information that is both professionally credible and personally relevant.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Professional distinctions affect the content

Psychologists, counsellors and therapists can appear within the same broad sector, but their professional frameworks are not identical.

AHPRA registration, Medicare arrangements, professional memberships and advertising requirements can all affect how services are described.

Where psychologists are AHPRA registered, relevant advertising requirements also shape how qualifications, services and possible outcomes can be presented on the website.

Our work in this sector has shown that these distinctions are not simply compliance details. They influence how people understand the practitioner, what support is available and what they can expect financially.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Privacy and first contact can reduce uncertainty

Another recurring theme has been the amount of uncertainty someone may feel before making an enquiry.

Privacy, confidentiality, session format, fees, rebates, location and what happens at the first appointment can all become part of that decision.

For youth counselling, consent and parent involvement can require additional explanation. Telehealth, walk-and-talk sessions or multiple locations can add further practical questions.

The strongest project outcomes have come from making those details easy to understand without allowing administration to dominate the tone of the website.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Wider psychology and counselling experience

Our experience extends beyond the featured projects.

For example, we have also worked with Orbit Counselling, where counselling, online group therapy and NDIS psychosocial recovery coaching needed distinct pathways without making the practice feel fragmented.

For the Paediatric, Perinatal & Adult Therapy Centre, a multi-practitioner model required clear pathways across perinatal, child and adolescent, and adult psychology services, together with two clinic locations.

These projects add experience across sole practitioners, multi-practitioner practices, youth services, recovery coaching, professional bodies and different appointment models.
