Manufacturing & industrial website experience

Web design experience across different manufacturing business models

Website Adelaide works with smaller manufacturers, fabricators and industrial businesses across Adelaide and South Australia.

EXPERIENCE ACROSS THE SECTOR

Examples from our manufacturing and industrial web design experience

The businesses we have supported include regulated product manufacturers, precision machining workshops, industrial fabricators and companies combining custom production with technical sales.

The way buyers assess those businesses can differ considerably depending on whether they are comparing a product, a manufacturing process or an industrial contractor.

The following projects are a selection of that experience.

01 · Ophthalmic surgical microscope manufacturing

Scan Optics

Location: Thebarton, Adelaide, South Australia

Scan Optics manufactures ophthalmic surgical microscopes supplied to hospitals and remote clinics in more than 120 countries.

The existing website needed to better communicate the credibility of an Australian medical device manufacturer while creating clearer pathways for ophthalmologists, optometrists and equipment technicians.

We redesigned and rebuilt the website with stronger product and audience pathways, deeper technical information and clearer visibility of regulatory approvals, certification and international experience.

This project reinforced how regulated manufacturing websites need to combine product information with the evidence buyers use to assess quality, compliance and credibility.

02 · Precision machining, tooling and industrial repair

Hawk Tooling

Location: Lonsdale, Adelaide, South Australia

Hawk Tooling came to us with a one-page website that gave engineers and commercial buyers limited information about its individual manufacturing capabilities.

We created dedicated pages for CNC machining, laser welding, laser etching, prototyping and tooling repair so each capability had enough space to explain the work properly.

The new structure also made it easier for buyers looking for a specific process to reach the relevant information.

The project showed how capability-led manufacturers can benefit from separating important processes rather than presenting everything under one broad manufacturing message.

03 · Structural, mechanical and piping fabrication

Global Welding Engineering

Location: Edinburgh North, Adelaide, South Australia

Global Welding Engineering needed to replace a small website with limited content and give engineering contractors and project managers clearer evidence of its fabrication capability.

We structured the new site around structural, mechanical and piping fabrication, supported by welding certifications, standards compliance, documented quality assurance and workshop capability.

The emphasis was quite different from a product manufacturer. Mining, processing and infrastructure buyers were assessing technical capability, compliance and suitability before deciding whether to request a quote.

That distinction reinforced how industrial contractor websites often need to lead with evidence rather than product presentation.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Different manufacturing models need different evidence

Working across these businesses has reinforced that manufacturing is not one website type.

A precision machining business may be assessed by the processes, materials and capabilities it can provide.

A defined-product manufacturer may need to place more emphasis on product categories, specifications, applications and variations.

Industrial fabrication contractors are often judged through certifications, standards, workshop capability and experience in relevant sectors.

Regulated manufacturers introduce another layer, where technical product information needs to sit alongside approvals, certification and other evidence important to the buyer.

Those differences shape the way manufacturing capability is presented.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Technical buyers often assess before making contact

Another recurring learning is that a website can play a significant role before an enquiry is ever made.

Engineers, project managers and procurement teams may be using it to shortlist or rule out suppliers.

Broad statements about quality, reliability or workmanship carry limited weight when the buyer is trying to confirm a specific machining process, welding certification, regulatory approval or manufacturing capability.

Across our work, the more useful evidence has usually been specific and connected directly to the relevant capability.

That can include technical processes, machinery, standards, approvals, materials or examples of the type of work undertaken.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Products and capabilities create different pathways

The distinction between product-led and capability-led businesses has also influenced several of our manufacturing projects.

For example, for Hawk Tooling the important starting point was the process or capability the buyer needed.

For Scan Optics, the website needed stronger product pathways supported by technical and regulatory information.

Other manufacturers may combine both models, with standard products sitting alongside custom manufacturing or made-to-order work.

The structure needs to reflect how buyers actually approach the business rather than forcing every manufacturer into a standard services format.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Wider Adelaide website design manufacturing and industrial experience

The featured projects are only part of our experience in this sector.

For example, we have also worked with RFShop, a long-standing client combining custom RF cable and antenna manufacturing with eCommerce and separate commercial and consumer audiences.

For Direct Truss & Timber in Lonsdale, the website needed to explain roof and floor trusses, quoting, design, manufacturing and delivery for builders.

Together with the featured examples, this gives us experience across product manufacturing, custom production, precision machining, timber manufacturing, industrial fabrication, technical eCommerce and regulated equipment.

OUR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Manufacturing website experience across South Australia

Our manufacturing and industrial clients include businesses in Lonsdale, Thebarton, Edinburgh North, Wingfield, Gepps Cross, Pooraka and other Adelaide industrial areas.

Some primarily serve Adelaide and South Australia, while others manufacture locally and supply interstate or international markets.
